You get gamer points by going into the Xbox Live Market place and adding gamer points, or by buying a points card at a store. You can also add them by going online to Xbox.com. But first you need to buy the Xbox 360 Arcade which comes with 5 arcade games. From then on if you have an Xbox Live Silver Membership or above you automatically receive free arcade game demos. And from those demos you can unlock the full arcade game. You know if their free because when you receive the game, instead of receiving the demo you receive the whole game.
